As another season of CMK Club Rugby comes to a close, we’d like to congratulate every player, coach, referee, volunteer and supporter who has helped make grassroots rugby in Taranaki such a success.

For 12 years, CMK Chartered Accountants has proudly supported Taranaki Rugby as the naming rights partner of CMK Club Rugby. It’s a partnership we’re incredibly proud of because, like the communities we work with every day, local rugby is built on commitment, teamwork and people willing to give their time for others.

More Than Just a Game

Every Saturday throughout winter, rugby clubs across the province become the heart of their communities.

They’re where lifelong friendships are formed, young players develop confidence, families gather on the sidelines and volunteers work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure every game goes ahead. From coaches and managers to referees, committee members and those serving food in the clubrooms, community rugby simply wouldn’t exist without them.

Supporting club rugby is our way of recognising the important role these clubs play in keeping our communities connected.

Congratulations to Our 2026 Champions

Finals Day once again showcased everything that makes Taranaki rugby special—passion, determination and strong community spirit.

Congratulations to all of this year’s champions:

  • Premier: Clifton Rugby Club, ending a remarkable 27-year wait to become the 133rd Taranaki Premier Champions.
  • Division One: New Plymouth Old Boys, who claimed their third consecutive title with a hard-fought 25–19 victory over United.
  • Division Two: Patea Rugby Club, completing an unbeaten season and securing back-to-back championships with a 45–24 win over Toko.
  • Women’s Championship: Southern Rugby Club, defeating Stratford-Eltham 26–12, with a late try sealing the victory.
  • Division Three: Tukapa Rugby Club, overcoming Kaponga 38–32 in an entertaining final.
  • Colts: Tukapa Rugby Club, edging New Plymouth Old Boys 28–25, with a late Rory Gilmour penalty securing their third successive Colts title.

To every finalist, congratulations on a fantastic season. Reaching Finals Day is an achievement in itself and every club should be proud of what they’ve accomplished both on and off the field.

Why CMK Supports Club Rugby

At CMK, we’re fortunate to work with farming families, business owners and organisations right across Taranaki. Many of our clients are also players, coaches, committee members, volunteers or lifelong supporters of their local rugby clubs.

Supporting club rugby isn’t just a sponsorship—it’s an investment in the communities where we live and work.

Strong communities build strong businesses. When local clubs flourish, they bring people together, support local fundraising, encourage young people to get involved in sport and create places where everyone feels welcome.

These are values that align closely with our own and they’re why we’re proud to continue supporting CMK Club Rugby.

Thank You

As another successful season comes to an end, we’d like to thank Taranaki Rugby, every club across the province, and the countless volunteers whose hard work makes community rugby possible.

Whether you played, coached, managed, refereed, volunteered behind the scenes or cheered from the sidelines, thank you for being part of another memorable season.

From everyone at CMK, congratulations to this year’s champions, thank you to the wider rugby community and we look forward to seeing you all back on the field next season.
